ZOMBIE's films have been praised by Roger Ebert!
I know . Who cares. However, Ebert put him in the same category with Tobe Hooper.Interesting. I liked the film overall. It was very uneven. It opened with GOD OF THUNDER and Myers wearing a KISS shirt; bliss!

How many threads do we need dedicated to this luke-warm film?
I'd like to see Halloween 5 discussed and dissected as much as this film.

I thought it was decent tbh. Halloween is by far my favorite horror series so I was kinda worried on the remake but I actually enjoyed it. Zombie does a good job being creepy and bringing the demon out in his character.

One thing about the Zombie story version that hits me the wrong way from the getgo is the villain in Halloween (1978) is the Boogyman, not Michael Meyers. The Boogyman is supernatural, has all of that mystery and superpowers. Whereas dissecting the psychology of of Michael Meyers makes him a mere serial killer. Debunking the myth is usually reserved for documentaries.

The original Halloween by John Carpenter got me started in this horror obsession so I don't take reviewing Rob Zombie's remake lightly, but in all honesty, I absolutely love what he did with both of his Halloween films.

Halloween 5? Are you kidding me right now? Next you're going to want to tell me Halloween 6 was a cinematic masterpiece.

Halloween was the movie that got me into horror as well! I could say that it "changed my life", but that's too corny.

^ Hey if the shoe fits! Coincidentally Halloween was also what got me into the horror genre. Or at least the slasher films.
But personally I didn't care for the Rob Zombie remakes... As much as I love his music, I just didn't feel like they had the same suspense as the originals. Also trying to make too much sense out of mindless gore just ruins gore in general.

Oh I'm talking about the original. The remakes were horrible!
