NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

"The descent" was one of the very best horror movies to come out of 2005. "The cave" was one of the worst.

The difference is huge.

I have seen it and I just felt very clausterphobic throughout the whole movie.

Based on the dvd I bought I thought it was going to be a total B movie time waster.

Turns out, it's a pretty good film. Very much along the lines of "The Cave", I think I like it better, but the ending is pretty weak.
It's funny you say that...I got this awhile back, too, on DVD, when my friends in the UK highly recommended it. I think this is one of the best horror films ever made! I'm just super-disappointed that they're changing the ending for the American release.

I think the ending is beautiful and symbolic and necessary to stay true to following the journey of the heroine, and I'm sorely disappointed they've chosen to Hollywood-ize the ending for the American release.

I have the DVD now (my uncle gave it to me, downloaded and converted etc.) I got it to torture myself I think... I'm definitely not watching it before I see it in the theater.
