Yeah, good stuff there. Only place I was able to find Suspiria and Tombs of the Blind Dead on DVD without paying some ungodly ebay price to buy 'em!

I find them a bit lacking in the midget porn department myself but other than that they'll do.

Netflix is great, but there are a few drawbacks....
They are closed on Saturdays & Sundays. That means nothing you mail to them is received on either of those days & nothing gets mailed out from them on those days either. The other drawback is that they show favortism and do what is known as throttling. Essentially, the less movies you rent from them per month, the faster your service and the shorter your wait time for high demand movies. Other than those 2 things, Netflix is great. Even though I rent enough to be throttled constantly, I still get more than my money's worth out of them each month. ********************************************* If you don't understand throttling, I will explain it here... I get movies from them, watch them right away and then drop them in the mail to return them the next day. This turnaround gets me roughly 1.5 movies per week, per movie. (But I subscribe for 3 movies at a time so really, I get about 4-5 a week from them.) My friend Nikki rents a movie and then let's it sit on her kitchen table for a month before she gets around to watching it and mailing it back. Now which type of customer do you think they prefer, considering they pay all the postage charges and all other fees remain constant? Because she rents so much less frequently but pays the same per month as me, they want to keep her happier. Therefore if a brand new movie comes out, it could very well show 'Long Wait' for me but "Available Now' for her. I got throttled. (Another way of looking at is getting put to the back of the line.)

How come no one has mentioned that this is the wrong forum.....huh.......why......how come.
I have something better than netflix.....here is what you do....get married.....have four kids....watch them grow......love and nurture them....then hope that one of them gets a job at a video store....that way you get your movies the weekend before they come out and it cost you nothing. Now I gotta get one of them working in a liquor store.:D |

i've resisted getting into netflix because a) i try to support my local independent video store and b) i still like browe the aisles. . . call me old fashioned.

If you rent a lot of movies you'll notice longer and longer waits. When I first started using it I got movies back like the next day, just before I cancelled, it would take over a week sometimes. I'd say join and just cancel when it takes a week to get movies. |
