Action Recommendations

This thread is about recommending action/ action scifi films for people.
Really just because I need some good ones for my parent free weekend.

Can you guys recommend some hard core gun action films? Today i'm going with A History of Violence, but that isn't enough. Help me out?

I can shamefully admit I have every installment of Universal Soldier in my library (Original, Original Special Edition, Made-for-TV 2 & 3, and Return). You might like it, who knows.

I enjoyed the Transporter series a whole lot. Many prefer the original, but I found the sequel to be more of what I like in an action film - hardcore style and crazy action.

District B13 is a french film that is also quite good. It's subtitled, so I hope you don't mind that.

Hm... yeah, I don't watch much action. This is all I have to offer. :(

Of course! Have it.

Could everyone leave a description with the movie? Mothman, what's wake of death about?

Hope you enjoy these:

Hard Boiled - John Woo, Chow Yun Fat, lots of guns

A Bittersweet Life
- A Korean actioner with a really tough guy forced to turn on his mob boss employer

RoboCop - Verhoeven's splatter masterpiece. Amazingly cool film.

Thriller: The Call Her One Eye - slow at times, but the stark wierdness of the Scandinavian environment and the pure brutality make this one a classic

Leon - the director's cut of The Professional. Fun.

Crank - A work of amazing momentum. I loved the completely over-the-top nature of this piece of mindlessness.

The Rundown (aka Helldorado) - The Rock, Seann William Scott, Rosario Dawson and Christopher Walken...and angry monkeys.

Magnum Force - my favorite Dirty Harry Callahan movie.

Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia
- Warren Oates stars (which always makes me happy) in this tale of extreme insensitivity.

Straw Dogs - Dustin Hoffman married a hottie, but the rest of the town considers her "still available" and don't think Hoffman will ever stand up to the bullying...they're wrong.

Le Femme Nikita - If you've seen the English language remake Point of No Return with Brigit Fonda, you've been had. That movie sucked ass, the original is no Shakespeare, but it sizzles with hip, nihilistic glee.

Blue Thunder - Roy Scheider, Warren Oates and a kick ass helicopter.

Escape From New York - Snake Plissken? I thought he was dead.

Crank which is new is absolutely terrific is about a hitman that gets injected with a "Beijing Cocktail" and only has a limited time to live. The only way he can live is to never stop moving and kicking major ass throughout, while seeking revenge on the people that did it to him. I loved it.

You can't beat John Woo for action movies. As Rod said, Hard Boiled and you can also check out A Better Tomorrow 1 & 2 as well as The Killer. Even his american made Hard Target, Face Off and Broken Arrow are worth a watch.
