 "The Hallow"/"The Woods" 7-8/10 Ever since I saw the movie poster on the front page of IMDB titled as The Woods I kinda hoped this would be the horror movie to beat this year coz the story sounded sweeet. Sadly, it's not quite. You have to wait almost half the movie before the shit hits the fan, but when it does creatures pops out everywhere and the action doesn't stop before the credits starts to roll. The creatures are well made and the fx are nice. My biggest problem was the mom. Her actions (or lack thereof) pissed me off. Also when the action begins the story kinda falls flat. There ya go. See it and judge for yourself.

Crimson Peak
Loved it! Great gothic atmosphere and sets. Great talent on screen and behind the camera and all are at the top of their game. Tough to pull off some of the histrionics and uber dramatic bits, but the whole ensemble nail it. I have a feeling this will disappoint fans looking for a horror movie or a startling paranormal adventure. It's a gothic romance, as Guillermo Del Toro has pointed out often, so it has elements of horror but it's not your standard genre film. See it on the big screen, cuz this one is done on a pretty grand scale.
