No! I would have never guessed you'd pick that, even with the two Evil Dead in a row! You know, I really liked the first 3/4ths of Army, but I was a bit deflated by the ending. Anyone else take it like that?

I don't sit at my PC desk watching films either. But I do have special cord and clone screen setting on my video card so that I can run it to my large flat screen TV and watch internet films reclining comfortably in my bed. You should set that up in whichever room you have your PC. Or if you have a laptop, you can get this to send it to any TV in your house. I use quite often, very worth it. Just tell the boys at Staples what you want.

Not a fan of Army of Darkness at all. I'm a big fan of the first two but part three wasn't my cup of tea.

I know what you mean (I think). Remember the part with the old lady demon, only pretending to be dead... did you like that part?

I wish I had more time to sit and watch some of these. I keep intending to draw and watch some of these on the side but something always comes up. I have two days off coming up soon so I'm hoping to take advantage of it.

Umm, Not even sure. It sounds familiar, but as I've told you before, my mind kind of blocks out the flicks I don't like. Been at least 7 or 8 years since I've seen it. My biggest obstacle to liking it was that it just didn't feel like it belonged with the first two. The tone of the film was so different, it felt misplaced.

I'll start with the negatives.
It may have just been the version I watched online, but the dialogue seemed 99 percent dubbed, and it was sloppily done. That annoyed me. The biggest negative for me was the performance by Michael T. Weiss as Richard, husband of Marie. Wooden and comatose are not moody and smoldering. Someone should tell Mr. Weiss that.

Also, the music? Ugh.
Omg right I hated Richard. And it wasn't even because he was a terrible character but because it was just a terrible performance. I felt sorry for the people having to play off of him, and felt nothing when he turned to a puddle of goo with the exception of irrational delight.

The music I thought nothing of so you're probably right about it not being so great. It certainly wasn't as memorable as the original's.

The direction was a bit uneven, which, though I love a few of Hough's films, isnt a massive surprise when taking into account his entire body of work. Still, it was not unimpressive at times.

On to the big transformation sequence. INSANE! It looked painful, like some awful oozy rebirth, It had me scrambling to see who did the FX. Loved it, and if this title comes up in conversation, that scene will be the first thing I think of. I thought the Lycan design was unique, especially the appearance and shape of the head and face.

I'd say overall, it was a fun morning watch! I can understand any uber-wolfie fan having a soft spot for this film. Thanks for the rec, Roi.
I had no problems with the other actors. Or direction, but that might be because I had read the book and knew where it was going but I dunno. I've certainly seen worse directing.

THIS IS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR! As you said, the transformation scene is what makes this werewolf film stand apart from any other I've ever seen. Certainly the grossest, weirdest, almost makes you feel the character's pain-est, I have ever seen. There really are no words for it. The werewolves themselves however I was actually more disappointed in. The transformations never built up to anything fantastic through each step like the first did. We just assume they melt into puddles or pull off their faces and eventually they're just large dogs rather than bipedal manbeasts. But again, I've seen worse.

But I'm very glad you gave it a shot and liked it, Repo! A review from a big horror nut like you means a lot to this lycan lover.

Happy to watch and to share my opinions on it, Roi. It's ALL about the movies, right? I love recommendations from serious horror fans, like yourself.

Yeah, I've seen waaay worse directing too. Like I said, it was a little uneven at times but still quality work. Hough's always interesting.

Thanks for the rec! Now I can give it an educated ranking in our draft!
