You usually need a heart or soul for that.

Owen Denies 007 Rumors

Clive Owen again denied that he'd been approached to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in the upcoming 21st 007 movie Casino Royale. "I have heard" about rumors that he's one of two finalists to play the British superspy, Owen told reporters at a news conference to promote his upcoming film Sin City. "It's the same as always. There's nothing to it whatsoever. It's just people writing about it. But ... it's not substantiated at all."

But when asked if he'd like to play James Bond, Owen dodged the inquiry. "Next question!" is all he said.

Owen appears in Sin City, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, as Dwight. Sin City opens April 1.

Dear God!! Let's hope this is not true:

Orlando Bloom Up For Young James Bond?
Source: Dark Horizons
March 28, 2005

Sky Movies reports (via Dark Horizons) that Orlando Bloom is up for the role of young James Bond:

Sky Movies reports the British hunk is in serious talks about a series of films based on an idea by a new author about the early life of the MI6 agent. Bloom says "I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts. This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown up James for the next 20 years."

This film series, which Miramax and Dreamworks have both been barracking for already, would be based on a new series of young 007 novels which began this year with 'Silverfin' which has already become a best seller

More Rumors:

Owen Finally Confirmed as Sixth Bond?
Source: IESB
March 29, 2005

After years of rumor and speculation, actor Clive Owen may finally have been nailed down for the role that everyone on the planet seems to think he should play!

The Movie Reporter at IESB has a picture of Owen with the enigmatic caption:

"BREAKING NEWS Clive Owen confirmed to be the next James Bond? More Details to Follow 3/28/05"

If what currently is still just a rumor turns out to be true, Owen will follow the likes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore and most recently Pierce Brosnan as agent 007 in the upcoming adaptation of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale, the 21st James Bond film. That title was originally used for a 1967 spy spoof starring Peter Sellers, David Niven and Woody Allen, but this would be the first time that Fleming's novel would be given the "Broccoli treatment."

Martin Campbell, who directed Owen with Angelina Jolie in Beyond Borders, has already been hired to direct the 21st Bond film

Hmmm, I think I predicted the film would take this approach back in October: http://hollywoodgothique.bravejournal.com/entry/6335

Connery Back As Bond
Sean Connery has agreed to reprise his role as James Bond for Electronic Arts' upcoming video-game version of From Russia With Love, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Connery will record dialogue for the game, and his likeness will appear as it did in MGM's 1963 hit movie, the trade paper reported.

Connery will be joined by other likenesses from the original cast of the film as the game brings to life such characters as the original Q (Desmond Llewelyn), Donald "Red" Grant (Robert Shaw), Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya), Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi), Kerim Bay (Pedro Armendariz) and Miss Moneypenny (Lois Maxwell). In addition, EA will work with Hollywood talent to round out the game, the trade paper reported.

The game is slated for release in the fall on PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube, meaning it will come out before MGM and Danjaq Productions' feature-film remake of Casino Royale, which is scheduled for completion next year, the trade paper reported.
