Shoudl some horror movie become reality, we'd be the geniuses to save the planet!

As for the effect of horror movies, I think fear's important. When I was younger, horror movies terrified me beyond recognition, but I still watched them. I loved being scared. That sort of fear is one of the greatest things I miss from childhood. But that fear has always made me more cautious, too. I always check under the bed before turning in, make sure the closest is empty and pray that if Micheal Myers is alive and kickin', I'm not related to the Myers' family in some way.

Horror movies prepare us for the horrors of real life.
Three things:

I totally dig your avatar, I agree with what you have to say, and I totally dig your avatar!

orginally posted by meetthecreeper : Please dont tell me you are buying into Moores BS. I hope you are not refering to Bowling for Columbine. That film was just one lie after another lie IMO.
well...i dont see why the lies come from...although of course he is going to find examples that proves his arguements right rather then something that would prove him wrong. and of course before media was even around...killing was more common and horrible then i would say to date. but i can agree that ppl have lost the killing instict. although n e one could kill at a certain time. i just beielve it all plays a role in a persons reaction. and i dont see how that can be denied.
as for other folks talking about already being prepared for zombies...or murders...thats kinda funny, b/c i like to beleive that true myself. although im sure its a whole different...experience to witness first hand...seeing being touchered by letherface. haha. but yea...there u have it.

"Why would you say that I am insane? I wouldn't say that I've lost my mind simply because I've heard the voices and seen the godless things moving in the woods. If anything, I think more clearly now than ever before. I know now that there is such a thing as a living Evil. A dark and shapeless thing that lives not in the spaces we know, but between them. In the Dark. In the night. And it wants the exact same thing as you and I: a chance at warm life on this Earth. It doesn't care that is already had that chance ...once. Now listen closely because there isn't much time. Listen and believe, because it's all true."

im not sure how much horror movies would prepare you for real shit like being chased by an ax murderer

even if you do know what to do, panic over takes you

besides, reality is always much worse than fiction (except for maybe the case of Ichi the Killer! but then again..... rape of nanking - NM!!)

Like it says at the begining of Last House On The Left. IT'S ONLY A MOVIE, ONLY A MOVIE, ONLY A MOVIE.
