FILMING UPDATE #1 -

Okay, well I just got shooting my first weekend of filming, (My 1st, the films 2nd. They shot other scenes last weekend that I wasnt in.) and I must say... We had a blast. We didn't even get to the kill scenes yet but we made a lot of progress and drank a lot of beer. (I got to "puke" all over this guy, which was a pretty entertaining scene to shoot. Probably not for him though. lol)

We are hoping to be done filming by mid-September but then there will be all of the post production stuff. Bottom line is that it will probably be out some time in early 2006.

We're hoping to have an actual theatre premiere at a local independent theatre, as well as getting it into a few festivals and if eveything goes right, maybe even straight to video at Blockbuster & Hollywood as well as being available on Netflix. (At least those are the aspirations of the director. Some or all of them may not ever come to fruition.)

The killer looks pretty cool and this guy that's directing knows what he's doing. It's his first feature length film, but he is taking it very seriously. I was also a bit surprised that the budget was quite a bit higher than I was initially thinking. When I was told this was gonna be low budget, I was expecting some dude and a camcroder. When I got there, I came to find out he has about $8000 worth of equipment that he owns and a 6 person crrew in addition to the actors. Needless to say, I had underestimated his definition of low budget.

Anyways, that's it for now. I'll update ya'll again after we shoot some more.

Alright, second update....

We had our second (Well, my second, the film's third) weekend of filming and I gotta tell you this is going way better than I ever imagined. Last weekend we shot 1 of the kill scenes (Not mine) and I think it's gonna turn out pretty sweet! Lots of blood. :D

On top of that, this "low-budget" director just bought himself a greenscreen so that puts the budget of his "no budget" film up to about $10,000.

All in all, it's going really well and I think I'll be pleasently surprised with the final product because the dude that's directing it is really taking it seriously.

Anyways, like I've said a bunch, once it's ready to roll (Right now it's tenatively scheduled for a late January release.) I'll try to make it available to ya.

Oh yeah, the director's name is Garrett Gardner and this is his first film, but like I said he takes it very seriously and as far as I know, he intends to make it his career. I told him to check out this site so if someone show sup talking about their film The Cabin, he's not a spammer, just a friend I told to check out the site.
