it might get director or screenplay. Screenplay is usually when the really good stuff gets nominated or wins (like last year with Eternal Sunshine and Sideways winning, or back when American Splendor was nominated)

As much as I'd like to see Sin City clean up, I think it's gonna be the gay cowboy movie that wins big this year. I don't see Sin City getting nominated for anything major at all, and only marginally for a handful of the smaller tech categories.

Best Picture-
Brokeback Mountain
Walk the Line
King Kong
Good Night, and Good Luck
Munich

Chronicles of Narnia
Star Wars Episode 3
Harry Potter & Goblet of Fire
King Kong
War of the Worlds

Best Picture-
Brokeback Mountain
Walk the Line
King Kong
Good Night, and Good Luck
Munich

I was 3 for 5 here and my predicted winner is still alive.

Best Director-
Woody Allen (Match Point)
Steven Spielberg (Munich)
Peter Jackson (King Kong)
Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain)
George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck)

3 for 5 again, but the gay cowboys made it through so my predicted winner is still hanging tough.

Best Actor-
Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Capote)
Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain)
Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line)
David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck)
*Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man)
*Terence Howard (Hustle and Flow)

*One of those two will make the cut and one won't.

Damn, I almost nailed this one, but my wishywashyness on Russell Crowe/Terrence Howard cost me. 4.5 out of 5.

Best Actress-
Felicity Huffman (Transamerica)
Charlize Theron (North Country)
Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line)
Keira Knightley (Pride and Predjudice)
Judi Dench (Mrs. Henderson Presents...)

5 for 5. I aced this category.

Supporting Actor-
Paul Giammati (Cinderella Man)
George Clooney (Syriana)
Matt Dillon (Crash)
Jake Gyllenhall (Brokeback Mountain)
Bob Hoskins (Mrs. Henderson Presents...)

4 for 5 with my predicted winner making it through.

Supporting Actress-
Maria Bello (A History of Violence)
Scarlett Johanson (Match Point)
Rachel Wiesz (The Constant Gardner)
Diane Keaton (The Family Stone)
Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain)

Ouch, only 2 for 5 here, but my winner is still alive.

Original Screenplay-
The Squid and the Whale
Crash
Match Point
Syriana
Good Night, and Good Luck

5 for 5 again. I'm doing much better than I expected to do.

Adapted Screenplay-
Capote
Munich
Brokeback Mountain
Walk the Line
Memoirs of a Geisha

3 for 5 here but my winner is still hanging in there.

FX-
Chronicles of Narnia
Star Wars Episode 3
Harry Potter & Goblet of Fire
King Kong
War of the Worlds [/B]

Well, they only picked 3 for this category so I kinda cheated, but I did still get all 3 right.

All in all, I don't think I did too shabby at all. A few nominations were off here and there, but every one of my predicted winners is still there and I even got 5 for 5 on a few of the categorys!

The special effects in Narnia are at best OK, they in no way compare to the standards set by Lord of the Rings.

Also everyone refers to Brokeback Mountain as a gay cowboy movie, but shouldn't it be a gay shepherd movie? They look after sheep not cows.

I would like to History of Violence given a nod somewhere, it was one of the strongest films last year.
