This was a decent movie. I have to admit, this one made me jump the most of the ones I've seen. A must have for any horror fan.

I thought it was very good. Ill admit I jumped at a few parts:D. The story was a bit confusing, but thats a good thing IMO. Really awesome ending, too.

Saw this at the Dead By Dawn Horror Film Fest this year and we all really dug it. The opening scene was absolutely enthralling and set up the very serious, very creepy story. Good twists and turns. A bit surprised it didn't see even a small theatrical, but I guess Henry Thomas and Patrick Fugit don't sell theatrically. Really very scary, unlike most theatrical horror flicks these days...

There have been period horror movies before this (contrary to the producers' claims), but Dead Birds is about the best.
Particularly impressive are the low-key performances from all involved, the air of dread generated by the constant howling of wind throughout the old house (reminiscent of Evil Dead), the doom-laden soundtrack, and downbeat (if confusing) ending. Only by watching the featurette was it clearer who, why and when folk turned into demons - the unfolding backstory being a little vague and uneven. Still too much reliance on CGI, but it was fairly unobtrusive in Dead Birds with only the monster up on the hayloft giving off the awful "not there" effect.
