The first didn't much appeal to me, too much horror with a lack of comedy or action until the last 10 minutes.

Evil Dead 2 is the most hilarious thing... ever.

The whole series is amazing, but I would have to say Evil Dead II was my favorite. :)

Loved both for different reasons. #1 was a great, atmospheric horror movie, and #2 had me rolling in the aisles while still holding on to a bit of the scare-factor from #1. Though overall I think #1 is the better film, both made it into my signature

I love them all, but the first Evil Dead is deffo the best.

The first is definitely my favorite. I enjoyed the comedy of the second two as well, but the (relatively) straight horror approach of the first one worked much better for me.
