Yes, Machete was the character Danny Trejo played in the 3 Spy Kids movies and the "Machete" trailer is obviously an attempt to move a secondary character from a kids movie into a Mexpliotation lead character.

That's too bad, it was pretty fucking tasty. In addition to fantstic looking footage from "Planet Terror", they show a phony trailer for "Machete" with Machete kicking ass intercut with him in a waterfall-fed lagoon with a topless chick on each arm.
FX had it pulled from YouTube on a copyright infringement charge. Best way to build hype, give 'em a taste and then take it away for a while. Smart marketing.
