Haunted (By the guy who wrote Fight Club)

Has anybody read this awful book? It's selling like mad on Amazon but I don't understand why. I'm 1/3 into it and I don't think it will improve. Avoid, avoid, avoid...

I really liked the book. I thought it was unusual because of the way it was not only built up of chapters about what was going on, but always of poems and short stories about each character. Also the characters having nicknames instead of names was another fact I liked, although saying that it was hard to keep up with all the characters at the start of the book.

Most people agree with you and not me, but I hated the nicknames. It made the story seem fake and hurried. There was no real character development, and I felt like I was constantly waiting for the interesting parts to begin. I cared about none of the characters, and it wasn't for lack of trying. But...it keeps selling in high volumes...

Well not everyones going to like it, theres plenty of things everyone seems to love and big up but I hate and dont understand! Lol.

I thought that with Haunted the nicknames added to the characters and that there was character development in the short stories about them.

I didn't realise it was selling in big volumes, I was just browsing a small, book shop and it happened to catch my attention. It had a 'parental advisory' sticker on it (dont know if your copy did or not) and i thought that was strange so decided to have a nose, ended up buying the thing and liking it, lol.
