Need help identifying movie or Tv serie

I think i've been traumatised by this movie or Tv show...

From what I remember, it was a low light ambiance, in a house. Probably have been after the 1960. There is a man and a woman. The man is hearing scratching sound from a closet and opens the door. We see a white little creature with red eyes that hurts or kills the woman. The man then pets the little creature...please help me...thank you

Yeah, at first I was going to say "Ghost Story", but it's definitely from Tales From the Darkside.
