I saw it on Friday night with my nephew. Wow! I was blown away by everyone's performance except Maggie Gyllenhaal. I thought she was mediocre at best. All of the guys rocked!

*SPOILER*

My favorite scene was also the Joker dressed as the nurse and leaving the hospital while it's blowing up. When the explosions stop and he gets the "WTF" look on his face.

I'm curious about The Riddler too...

*SPOILERS*

Is this something other than the "Mr. Reese" association? I've also been told there's a subtle hint toward Catwoman appearing AND there've been rumors that the tattooed prisoner (Tiny Lister) will become Bane. The next movie in this serious could either be phenomenal or a huge let down. Personally I'd like to see Harley Quinn as the next villain. I also noticed that people thought AMH would be The Riddler in Dark Knight but instead he played a news anchor named Mike Engle (Mr. E).

The Catwoman reference was when Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale were discussing the new Batman suit, and the line was, I believe, "Will it protect me against dogs?", and the response was "It'll protect you against cats." I'm probably para-phrasing, but you get the idea.

Oh ok, well, I guess I wouldn't have considered that a hint toward Catowman but good call. :)

***SPOILERS GALORE***

The Riddler thing was tipped off to me through the Mr. Reese/Mystery thing, but if you look at the character, everything fits perfectly.

- He works for Wayne Industries, which is seen in more than one version of Riddler.

- He has a damn good idea who Batman is, and judging by the look he gave Wayne after the Lamborghini crash, he's still a little pissed.

- He's shown to be pretty smart + resourceful.

- Looks the part PERFECTLY.

- After a close call like that, orchestrated by someone like The Joker, you're bound to lose it a little bit.

- And, of course, there's the fact that Gary Oldman already pretty much conformed that Riddler was the next villain. I can dig up a link to the interview if you're so inclined, but I'm sure you've all read it by now.

I know there's more, but thats all I can think of for the moment.

As for Tiny Lister, the big dude on the boat...if he's being set for up anything, it's Killer Croc, not Bane. That shit on his neck looked more like a skin condition that an tattoo. I've never seen a tattoo like that...

I heard somebody mention that the schizo Joker goon that Harvey was interrogating - the one with the Rachel Dawes badge - was supposed to be a set-up for Mad Hatter, but I cant quite figure that one out. Did anybody catch something that I didn't?

Personally, I think they're trying to set up Batgirl / Oracle in some way. In both this movie and Batman Begins, they mention Gordon's daughter constantly, but NEVER show her. Even when his family is kidnapped, she's attached to her mother and you just barely see the back of her head. Nolan's said that he'd never have Robin in his films, but has he ever mentioned Batgirl? Besides, I think that whole kidnapping thing would give her more than enough reason to want to fight crime...I'm against the idea myself, but I can see it happening.

Anyway, I'm still pushing for Black Mask as the next villain...so fucking perfect for Nolan's world. Who would play him though? Joaquin Phoenix? Guy Pearce? Maybe Rufus Sewell?

Lister was listed as "Tattooed Prisoner" in the credits and that kind of scarring tat is pretty common in prisons. As for Black Mask, I think that would be pretty cool but I'd rather see somebody come from Dark Knight and be built into the character they're to play. I'm actually digging this two villian scheme Nolan's films have had though.

Above all, Mr. Reese = Mis + ter + Reese = Mysteries...enough subtle hint.

I am thinking Talia might make an appearance in the next one, and/or Harley Quinn.

From what I have heard about Chris Nolan, he ACTUALLY checks out comic fans' message-boards and their discussions after they have seen his adaptations and plans a script for his next movie accordingly. I must say the man does some pretty good and solid homework.
