Why has everyone got a heathledger banner?

Did you guys start a gang? I'm actually sick of hearing about Ledger as the Joker, it is putting me off the movie.

This is the most overused image in the media at the moment in the U.k at the moment, anything to do with the darknight has it atatched. Have they forgotten about Batman?

batman was great, christian bale was awesome, and i love how violently he kicks the shit out of everyone.

But heath ledger as the joker was way the hell over the top, and not in a bad way. he was exceptional in the role, more so than the other actors were in their roles, and that is saying a lot because there isnt a weak performance in the movie. Even the wimpy paranoid-schizo dent interrogates.

it's not often we get something other than a 2 dimentional by the books villian.

for me - this wasn't just the batman i've been waiting for - it had the villian - in any movie - i've been waiting for.

this one rare time - the hype is justified.

he has a lot of screen time - and doesn't waste a second of it.

i went in there with my guard up - prepared to be disappointed because i figured all the noise and interest was because the guy died ... well - i think that generated more interest than usual - but the word of mouth is carrying the film ... all the positive noise is justified.

as far as banners go - i have the only good one anyway ...

go read the trivia for dark knight on IMDB. heath ledger put a lot of work into that character, and it shows. probably my favorite thing i read was chris nolan's response when asked why he chose heath ledger:

"He was fearless".

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight" has a real shot at crossing the $300 million mark at the domestic box office this weekend. If it does so, it would become the first film in history to hit that mark in its first 10 days.

Through Wednesday, "Dark Knight’s" cume was $222.1 million from 4,366 theaters after opening to a record-breaking $158.4 million last weekend. Film has also enjoyed record-breaking weekday numbers -- not counting holidays -- grossing $24.5 million on Monday, $20.9 million on Tuesday and $18.4 million on Wednesday.

"Dark Knight" would need to gross more than $62 million to reach $300 million this weekend, assuming it grosses $16 million on Thursday. Some box observers put the weekend number as high as $75 million-$80 million. The movie has become a phenomenon and is already destined to gross north of $400 million domestically.

It took "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest" 16 days to reach $300 million in domestic grosses and 17 days for "Star Wars -- Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." Last summer, "Spider-Man 3" hit the mark in 19 days.

TDK will still become the fastest to 300 even if it doesn't make it in 10 days. They still have days 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.

:)

Anyone know a good argument I can use to get my dad to take me to see it soon?

which film is the competition?

I have a question, what started the hype before the movie's theatrical release? there wasnt nearly as much hype for the previous film. How did everyone know before hand how good it would be?

The idea of Ledger being cast as Joker, then the teaser trailer with Joker's voice, then viral marketing that was done EXTREMELY WELL, then full trailers, then Ledger's death, then more trailers, TV spots, word of mouth, sponsorships and lots lots more.

The movie it is beating out for the top spot is Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest I believe.
