It's about at 20 million.

It cost 30 million. Worldwide it should break even. Add in dvd and pay cable and you have a small profit situation... I truly like it as an episode of the television show, but it should have been a cinematic version of the show. It felt rushed and cheap. It still had that creepy X-FILES charm, though. I hope they make more, but add some cinematic flair. I doubt there will be more; this would be a sad epitaph.

i'm really surprised so many x-files fans out there were disappointed with it.

i loved it. part of what made x-files so great was its relevance to the times, and i felt they stayed true to that with this movie, and without abandoning the creepiness and ambiguity of the classic episodes.

I thought it was awful... furthermore it seemed like neither David nor Gillian gave a rats ass about the movie. -Which I don't blame them based on the weak script... so sad, I loved the first seasons... :(
