It differs I guess. Over here I think they hire you out to people for round $16 an hour and you get minimum wage which is round $12.

I hate temp agencies. I've worked for so many of them, and they won't hesitate to call you on a Sunday afternoon and tell you not to go to work the next day because your "assignment has ended".
It's fucked up. If you can get a LEGITIMATE temp-hire position, one in which the company WILL actually hire you after 30-90 days, that's the best way to go, if possible. Otherwise it's shit, and you'd be better off getting hired on directly. Though admittedly it's easier said than done.
