Breaking into the fall drinks,



Never had this particular pumpkin ale before, but it's really not bad. It's very easy to drink and nicely spiced. Definitely goes down well with the season.

Had one of these last night



a very hearty stout for sure.

I thought I posted about the Autumn Beer I had the other night.....seems to have vanished...anyway it went something like this.

I love Octoberfest beers....my fav seasonal...not overly fond of the spice or pumpkin beers...it would have to be real subtle. Had one of these....


it didn't float my boat......apples & cinnamon do not make a good beer IMO

BUT THE LABEL IS PRETTY COOL

Clamato (a portmanteau of "clam" and "tomato") is a trademark of the Mott's company which denotes a drink made primarily of water, reconstituted tomato juice concentrate, and high-fructose corn syrup. It is flavored with monosodium glutamate, spices, and a small amount of clam broth. It is also referred to colloquially as "clamato juice." Clamato was produced in its current form beginning in 1966 by the Duffy-Mott company in Hamlin, New York, by two employees who wanted to create a Manhattan clam chowder style cocktail by combining tomato juice and clam broth with spices. The brand was owned by Cadbury-Schweppes after the company bought Mott's in 1982. It is now owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group after the business was spun-off of Cadbury-Schweppes in 2008.

That's a pretty good stout.

I'm having an Atwater Voodoovater Doppelbock.
A decent doppelbock. Not my favorite.

Getting into the season myself:



Pumpkin Ale, from Great Lakes Brewery. Wasn't really what I expected, but overall not bad.

Not bad, not enough flavor though. I'll finish the sixer.





I love Bell's Fortunato... the brewery is only about 2 hours away and you can get some good food and beer after a tour.

Yeah, they have some great brews. I'm awfully jealous. There are a lot of excellent breweries in Michigan.
Are you close to Founders too?
