I watch far too much TV. Shows I find myself watching recently:
PAWN STARS (History Channel) American Chopper in a pawn shop in California. Owner Mike is a history buff and people bring all kinds of weird stuff to his shop to sell. Also on hand are Mike's crusty, cranky dad, his son who's a bit of a moron, and his son's friend Chumlee who is really a moron. PIT BULLS & PAROLEES (Animal Planet) This lady who has been in and out of the justice system runs the nation's largest pit bull rescue facility, along with her two smokin hot daughters and a crew of parolees she hires. Her goals are to rehab the pit bulls and find homes for them, educate people about pit bulls and how they're not the demon breed the media makes them out to be, and to help the parolees she hires get a second chance on life. It's really pretty inspiring. HOLMES ON HOMES (HGTV) Canadian home renovation expert Mike Holmes helps home owners who've been ripped off and taken to the cleaners by bad contracters get their homes fixed up. He usually ends up literally gutting their homes and starting over. It's apalling to see how much bad work is done by bad contracters and how it ruins the lives of their customers. LAUNCH MY LINE (Bravo) This is a reality series where teams of up and coming fashion designers are teamed with a fashion "expert" to try and create a fashion line that will actually be marketed. All of the designers and experts are terrible, vain and petty people, as are the experts and they bitch and kvetch at each other endlessley. This show is a train wreck. It's the same as watching a really bad movie to see how bad it can be.
