Agreed... Did not care for Halloween; I didn't think that it was a necessary remake... As for Halloween 2, I thought it was absolutely awful. Just self-indulgent crap... El Superbeasto was just vulgar... Which I realize was the point, but there was no intellect behind it...

I need to give The Devil's Reject another try. I have a hard time with exploitation flicks - I think I'll enjoy it more now that I know what to expect.

I actually thought that House of 1000 Corpses was absolutely brilliant.

I love all his flicks but The Devil's Rejects is my favorite closely followed by House of 1000 Corpses and Halloween II.

I was a bit disappointed with El Superbeasto.

Fuck the haters Zombie is one of the best modern horror directors IMO.

I guess I'm the only one who prefers his first Halloween. I agree it wasn't necessary, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.

I really need to revisit House though because I haven't seen it since it first came out.

I think Halloween was fucking horrid and a complete waste of time. Not only was it an unnecessary remake, but it even felt badly made. As if Rob Zombie was expecting people to dis it and didn't even try to make it halfway decent.

The Halloween remake was a lot better than the majority of the recent remakes (& the majority of the sequels). I really don't get the hate for it.... especially since the dumbed down Dawn of the Dead remake gets so much praise.

The Ralph Bakshi stuff it was knocking off definitely had a lot more underlying themes to it. My major gripe was that it just wasn't very interesting compared to a lot of the animated stuff out there. I was honestly hoping for something like his animated segment in Beavis & Butthead Do America.

House of 1,000 Corpses closely followed by The Devil's Rejects.

I'm a big Rob Zombie fan, both musically and in terms of his films but for me both Halloween films have been a huge disappointment. They are worse than the original films and come across as pretty generic slasher films. They don't even seem to have that sadistic Rob Zombie humour I've became so fond of. I hope he stops remaking Halloween at 2 because he adds nothing to the series.

To be fair what did any of the sequels offer that was new? Aside from Halloween III which was going to take the series on a different trip completely.
