Inner Senses (2002)

Yan, a young woman haunted by fleeting images of what she believes to be dead people. Told that it is all in her mind by her psychologist Jim, Yan still cannot find any other explanations for her visions. Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when Jim begins seeing the same things she does and the two begin to unravel a mystery that leads to a forgotten past.

A slow burn but decent romantic horror from Hong Kong with nice characterizations & few jump scares. Worth a watch.

Talking A gem from Korea

Finally saw Mother last night. It doesnt fall into the horror category. Its more of a thriller/mystery movie. A mom becomes a sleuth after her son is arrested for a murder. Its quite complex, definitely worth your time.

I loved this movie! Now this is what I call horror. That woman was so weird with the faces she made. It scared the crap out of me. Thank you for such a great variety of films. There is something for everyone at this website! I love you guys since the beginning, keep up the good work.;)

Best Seller (2010)

Hee-Soo (a young writer) moves to a small house in a rural area after becoming involved in a plagiarism scandal. Hee-Soo then hears a horrifying story from her daughter who hears it from an invisible friend in that house and she writes a new novel based on those stories.
Her novel becomes another best seller, but Hee-Soo's success is short lived. The stories in the novel are discovered to have been published 10 years ago. To prove her innocence, she goes back to the house to uncover the mystery that lies there.....

The 1st half of the movie was pretty decent & the story evolved in an interesting way but then it become pretty predictable in the 2nd half, though I was expecting more twists as the 1st(?) one came almost in the middle of the movie. The plot seems had potential at the beginning but in the end it turned out just an ok horror-thriller from Korea.

Evil Dead Trap (1988)

A nice tribute to the 70's & 80's American & European genre films. Specially loved that GOBLIN-esque soundtrack.

The Chaser (2008). This incredible psycho-thriller has reinvigorated my love of Korean cinema. Just about every aspect of this flick was perfect. The story itself was a wonderful ride, but not as confusing as some Korean flicks tend to be. It also shied away from the usual Korean tendency to weave together a story so abstruse that needs an explicit visual explanation towards its denouement. Instead, this is simply a driving movie that never lets up, with side-stories constantly interfering with our players best intents to motor on with their nefarious deeds, whether they be pimping their chicks or bashing their brains in. Heroes and villains alike are thick in character, some being richly complex and unlikeable, others hiding their filth behind a wall of believably simplicity. The action is so wonderfully authentic, spiced with occasional bumblings, that we come to appreciate each and every blow with with some well earned flinching. At times a tad gruesome and brutal, a Hollywood ending is definitely not in the cards. Merci beaucoup.

The Wig

Using a hunk of cursed hair as a focal point for a metaphorical tale dealing with sickness, loss, bereavement and what we will do to avoid those things, this film weaves a wonderful spell. Really enjoyed this.

But can someone who has seen this film tell me who the boys with the belts were, and who they were beating?
