So have you all heard about "The walking dead weekly"? It's essentially re-releasing the whole series from issue #1 at a lower price, released weekly...I thought this was a great idea for those who have seen the show and want more, or even those that have never seen/heard of either series to get their heads into it.
Well, there's that or the collections, either's good.

I haven't - We just pick up the collected volumes when they're out. That's actually pretty cool, though.

Best American Comics 2010

I love this series - I read it every year. It's a great way to sample what's out in comics over the course of the year and become introduced with authors and artists you might otherwise not have heard of. Through the selected excerpts, I was introduced to the below fantastic graphic novels that I just consumed:

Omega: The Unknown (2008)

This graphic novel "re-envisions" the original Omega the Unknown (1975) and places the story in a modern New York City. An understated pulp homage, I honestly think that genre fans will absolutely adore this comic and I HIGHLY recommend it (though the ending absolutely and positively sucked).

...

Asterios Polyp (2009)

An unconventional character-piece, this beautifully illustrated graphic novel tells the tale of Asterios Polyp - His life, how it fell apart, and how he tries to make sense of it all. I really fell in love with the characters, especially his ex-wife Hana. Fantastic read. Highly recommended.

Batman: Hush

Batman: Hush. Jim Lee is such an incredible artist, and teaming up with writer Jeff Loeb is all that was needed to make an incredible comic. My all time favorite.

I really, really, REALLY loved Heart-Shaped Box and highly recommend it. I'm reading 20th Century Ghosts now, which is a collection of his short stories; some are fantastic but some are incredibly weak.

Didn't know he wrote a graphic novel - May have to get my hands on it. Thanks for the rec.

Just finished The Walking Dead book 6. I like where this is going. Good read. I reckon Hell will rain down on them in their little sanctuary pretty quickly in book 7.

At the moment I'm reading Ghost In The Shell (from Dark Horse). Nothing to do with horror, though.

Next one will be Locke & Key two.

Nemi, a Norwegian humor comic about a Goth girl living in Norway and her friends. It is hilarious and full of good social commentary.

Aarrgh... I hate Nemi. I feel she's just recycling every joke and now she's outdated. But then again, I'm not a girl/woman, which is her target audience.

Sorry. Carry on.

Currently reading... well finished "Friday the 13th volume one" and "Friday the 13th book two" anticipating on reading "Gears of War issue 16 also known as Unseen"

I am also thinking about re-reading "Spawn Volume 1" and then purchasing Volume 2, as I already own volumes 3 and 4, and need 5 & 6.

FF (Future Foundation) #1.
This is the comic that follows the events after the recently finished "Fantastic Four" comic, after the (apparent) death of Johnny Storm.
It's a...rather interesting concept actually.
Nice bit of a twist at the end.
Not too sure how I feel about it at the moment, but it seems decent, I think I'll keep reading this one for now.
