See for me i've always loved the old monsters that were made from puppets or someone in a costume and things like that because at least then the object was actually there. It may have looked like crap but it was a real solid tangible thing. Today's CGI still looks like crap and i know there's nothing there either for the actors to play against. Just kills it for me.

I think the modern reliance on CGI is a big misstep. I'm not against the technology per se and it's fine in small doses but I think it's overused. CGI should be used when the technology means that it's nearly indistinguishable from non-CGI. We're not really there yet and I think it'll be a while till we are.

Thing is 15 - 20 years down the line we're probably going to look at Transformers and their ilk as rather ugly.

tHE cREEPING tERROR...

The monster that is made mostly from carpet scraps and vacuum cleaner hoses...with some college students underneath to make it crawl like a snail, sort of...reeeeeealllly awful monster! But they probably had about twenty dollars to make it, though, so, I applaud their efforts.

Funny thing about this monster: It is so incapable of movement---it has no really recognizable features, barely has a mouth even...and the mouth is not much more than a hole in the carpet scraps. So: When the monster has to be seen eating people, the actors playing the "victims" can be seen crawling into the monster's mouth, while pretending to kick, scream and fight. Oh, this is so funny! MST3K had a stab at this awful film, too.

This film is so bad that for many years there was a debate about whether it actually existed. The stories about how bad it was were too crazy to be believed. Makes Plan 9 look like Gone with the Wind!

lol. I wish pipe cleaners would have been involved! They should remake this film with a huge budget just for the hell of it. lol.

So I'm still waiting for part 2 of the article to come out and I stumbled on something else funny on the Full Moon Horror Website. They're having a 50% off everything in their store sale next week and if a person drops $500 for a $1000 gift card they will receive an executive producer credit in the next Puppet Master film. This blows my mind - is this an ingenious idea, a 'we're broke and need money' idea or more aptly, both? lol.

What it is, is more spam for Full Moon from someone who obviously has a vested interest.

Charles?

Yes. I'm Charles. I'm broke. Buy my gift cards. I know you have $500 stuffed within your mattress...
