It definitely has western elements. Great film I really enjoyed it.

I think it might be called "Renegade" in some parts.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Westerns, but really enjoyed:

• The Good, The Bad, The Weird (2008)
  
• The Quick and the Dead (1995)

Really dug Open Range, finale kicks ass,
The Good The Bad and the Weird was a pretty spectacular film as well.
