(Just kidding. I wanted to respond to this thread this morning, but I had to get offline shortly after it went up so I decided to wait until I had more time to post...)

My wife Alana hates her job. She's a secretary at 3M & in the corporate world, it's true what they say... Shit rolls downhill. And since she's at the bottom of the totem pole, she is constantly getting shit on. So she hates it & would like to find a new job & I totally support her in that because I just can't imagine going to work every day at a job you absolutely hate.

As many of you know, I work 2 jobs. 1 as the night auditor at a hotel (Which is why I'm online so much all night, almost every night.) and the other as a real estate agent. I don't really mind either of my jobs, but I was recently made aware that I had a pretty good shot at getting the assistant manager position at the hotel and if that happens, I might stop selling real estate.

The reason I'd opt for the hotel job over the real estate one is because my wife and I are hoping to move to a warmer climate within the next year or two & I could transfer with that job, but my real estate license is only good in Minnesota so that one would be out of the question at that point anyways. If and when we do move, it'll likely be out to Los Angeles, but more specifically North or West Hollywood since we have some friends there and our Godchild lives there.

I'm about halfway done with the first draft of my first feature length spec script. It's a vampire comedy and once it's finished & registered, I will make it available to you guys to read & offer feedback on.

The film I acted in (almost 2 years ago now) is STILL caught up in post-production! Evidently there were some issues with the audio at first and now there are some issues with transferring images to the greenscreen background. It's still being worked on, but I have absolutely no idea when I might see a copy of it.

I'm in the process of editing my first short film, which will suck beyond belief, but the footage was never shot with any intention other than giving me something to play with on my new editing software. Once that's done, I'll throw it on YouTube & link it here so you can all check it out and laugh at how fuckin' terrible it is.

Our dog Dude is awesome, but he likes to eat trash when we leave the bathroom door open & that usually makes him puke.

I'm a huge sports fan in general, but I'm a diehard Minnesota sports fan (Especially the Vikings & Twins) so I've got baseball season coming up & I'm really looking forward to that! I think the Twins are gonna be serious contenders this year with their stacked young squad. Minnesota Wild made the playoffs in the NHL, so I'll probably be heading out to the XCel Center to check out a few playoff games in a couple weeks. The Timberwolves are doing inexcusably poor this year. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin Garnett go to a new team and I really wouldn't blame him. He's put up with having no supporting cast for 10+ years now and there's no championship in sight if he stays with the Wolves.

The shows I watch on tv currently are... Survivor (I'm a HUGE fan), Lost, Jericho and The Amazing Race. When Big Brother starts up, I watch that too. Those are the shows I make a point to watch every week. Of course there are other shows that I'll watch when they're on like The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, etc...

If there are any other Survivor fans here, I created a website about 4 years ago that basically allows you to play the game of Survivor over the internet. (Obviously you're not out in the woods, but it captures the psychological element of the game. You play with other live people from all over the globe and vote each other out each week.) If anyone's interested in checking that out, the website is http://bwind22.suddenlaunch.com. But for anyone that does go there, keep in mind that it's for people of all ages and walks of life (I've got members from ages 13 all the way up to retired people in their mid/late 50s) so try to watch the language. Think of that website as being rated PG-13, where this one is an easy R.

Hmmm.... What else? I still listen to pretty much only punk rock with a small spattering of hard rock & rap thrown in. If you've never checked out the bands Bad Religion or Pennywise, I highly recommend them.

I just watched The Prestige the other day. It was pretty good. Christopher Nolan is a pretty damn good director. I'll be watching Turistas after I get off work in the morning.

I guess that's about it for my life in a nutshell. Nice thread Phalanx.

Agreed, but change starts with you and me.

If we don't try to set the example, who will?

If there's one constant in world history, it's that change happens with or without the blessing of the current regime...we can affect the change.

Apathy is the pussy's way out.

I get it, but the biggest problem with that situation is when you let yourself down like that, when you give in to the pessimism of it all, it doesn't just affect you.

It hurts everyone out there fighting for the things you'd like to support. And it supports everything you stand against - because your point-of-view has been effectively (and quite intentionally) taken out of the picture.

So you change your mindset, give us a hand. Read about the issues and vote your conscience - at least you'll know that you're trying...and trying affect changes in your life that can be hugely satisfying.

Vote...I don't care who for, as long as YOU care.

Pretty please, with sugar on top:D

I suppose its a world wide problem.
I hear alot of non voters complaing that..thier vote won't bring about any changes anyway..so they just don't do it'.
I wonder if they realise that maybe thier one vote is the one that actually does
make a difference.

But then again..politcal parties are all the same if you ask me..

i do vote. but not in a serious way. the constituency i'm in is a safe seat for politicians you would rather cut your hand off than sign a ballot paper for. this year i voted green party. 'why?' i hear you chorus. cause the young man in the picture was in a forest, wearing a t-shirt with 2-3 days stubble on his face in his election posters. if he's so preoccupied with the business of politics to put on a shirt and tie or even shave for his election shots, then he's the man for me.lol
