The Legend of Hell House
Has anyone ever seen the movie The Haunting of Hell House--I've read the book.
It starred Roddy McDowell, and one of my Ft.worth Texas classmates Gayle Hunnicutt the "British" actrress.

Well, it's actually called The Legend of Hell House for starters. It's about a team of psychics and whatnot that enter a house and try and prove if it's haunted or not.

I just watched this yesterday and I'm disappointed to say that I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I normally love ghost and haunted house movies. For instance, The Changeling and The Others are high on my list of favorite movies. And I also love Richard Matheson's short stories. But this one just didn't sit right with me. Don't get me wrong, I'd still give it a 6/10, but I just don't see the masterpiece there. I think Mr. Barrett and his attitude turned me off and made me not like this as much. I also didn't like the reason the ghost stayed around for that long. It seemed kind of cheesy. I'm going to need to watch this a few more times and see if my opinion changes. I WANT to like it. Can anybody cheer me up and give me some reasons to get into this one?
