Sarah Michelle Gellar Gets Addicted
Source: Variety August 30, 2006 Sarah Michelle Gellar will topline the supernatural thriller Addicted, which the Yari Film Group is financing and producing with Vertigo and Spitfire. The film is loosely based on the 2002 South Korean film Jungdok. Joel Bergvall and Simon Sandquist, who helmed the acclaimed Swedish film The Invisible, will direct from a screenplay by Michael Petroni. The story revolves around a woman whose husband and brother-in-law end up in a coma after a horrible accident. When the brother-in-law wakes up, he says he is her true husband. Bob Yari, Vertigo's Doug Davison and Roy Lee, Spitfire's Guy East and Nigel Sinclair will produce. Spitfire's Alexander Brunner and Vertigo's Sonny Mallhi executive produce. Gellar has just wrapped production on The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing. After The Grudge 2, she'll next been seen in thriller The Return, opening November 10.

Sarah Michelle Gellar made The Grudge completely un-scarey, I just can't take her seriously in this genre after doing Scooby Doo.
