Fido

Has anyone seen this yet? Caught it on Friday night at my local theater. It's Canadian, so I'm not sure if it's in the US yet. Or even getting a theatrical release there anytime in the future. IF you ever get the chance to see this... do so. It was hilarious. I thought it was three times better then Shaun of the Dead, though I never got the whole "hype" surrounding THAT movie.

This could be the most bizarre movie of the year.Carrie Ann Moss and Billy Connelly starring in a movie where corpses are re-animated by space dust and subsequently domesticated as living dead servents......

Heres a pic from the movie.

and another one.

It comes out in the US in June, I believe. So Canadians, go check it out NOW as it's in theatres. I really urge you all to check it out - it's quite good. See it in a theatre with a large crowd of genre fans. Great times all around.

Has anyone but myself seen this?

I've heard of it and my boyfriend is dying to go and see it because he finds the trailer so damn funny...but I keep putting it off because for me meshing comedy and horror is the biggest no-no...I mean sarcastic comedy dripped throughout the movie is alright, but having enough comedy in there to render it slash genre isn't right.

But I probably will end up seeing it.

I'm less worried about the comedy and more worried about it not being good. Usually I like independant movies and this one looks good but I fear it's just getting a lot of hype because it was played at Sundance.

Hmmm good point. If I'm going to go and see it at the movie's it has to be a really good movie. I like to get good value out of my dollars spent. This movie I think I can wait until its out on DVD, and then get friends to hire it out for me :P

I wouldn't really call the movie "horror" myself, but I guess it's an even split between Horror/Comedy technically. There are 0 scares, and the only thing related to horror are the fact that the world is inhabited by zombies, and a few gore scenes here and there. The entire thing is pure comedy (some might even argue Romance :p)

Don't worry - it IS good, or at least everyone who I know who has seen it thus far thinks it is. It's slightly in the vein of Snakes on a Plane, but not entirely. It's one of those movies that is filled with one-linears and is completely self-aware. It parodies pop-culture in some scenes, and nearly every line one person says can be taken about 9 different ways.

So if you enjoy "corn", then check it out. If you like comedies, check it out. If you like movies like Evil Dead, Snakes on a Plane and Shaun of the Dead - definitely check it out.
