Confirm your birthdate.

Seriously, when I want to watch a gory trailer and those bullshit pulldown boxes pop up for me to select my birthdate it pisses me off. Quit wasting my time with this crap. Honestly, have any of you younguns' ever put it your real birthdate if you're underaged, or saw the age restriction and thought, "Well fuck me sideways, I can't watch this, I'm too young!"?

Bleh...most of the real underages bluff to watch em anyways...makes it pointless to have such things. Unless of course you DONT want someone to watch a trailer, but why would you wanna do that?

Just make it free viewing for everyone. The rating certificate at the beginning gives the Rating for the trailer anyway. Viewer discretion will come about automatically.

Yeah pretty much, so incase somebodies mommy sees them watching it, the website can claim that they had to confirm their birthday to watch it, and the kids put in a fake one, so parents can't sue them.

I have to rent or buy majority of the video games for my brother because my Mom will have a royal freakout about age restrictions if she goes in to rent stuff. For a while we were all stuck playing "E for everyone" games. It's BS if you ask me.

ya know... no offense or anything, but... its people like you that cause such problems for the videogame industry, accept for stuff like the good ol hot coffee mod but thats besides the point. They have age restrictions for games like that for such a reason, so that kids don't get ahold of games that they shouldn't be playing, so that those kids mommies and daddies won't flip out after they witness they're children playing games with adult themes and content. If the games aren't meant for your age, then don't play them. That solves the whole problem. I mean, what if your mom found out he was playing these games, and decides to start a lawsuit against a video game company that eventually ends up in restrictions against the making of violent games that we enjoy. Then nobody could play them and it would all be the fault of the assholes that get the young kids those games.

Now, Macabre, I mean this in no offense to you, or at least im not trying to, but it may look like it. So I appologize if you get offended on what I have to say.

No offense at all. I actually find it kinda laughable. You see, my brother is a very mature 14. My mom, a very immature middle aged woman. My brother has been old enough to play mature games for a few years now and he can definately handle it. He takes after me in the way he enjoys a little bit of tasteful gore and violence. I've been watching horror movies since I was 8 and the violence hasn't harmed me any. I really feel I'm making the responsible decision of having him play these games with me rather than over at his friends house because I know he's in a secure environment and has someone to ask questions and stuff.

So don't worry, I'm not one of those assholes who are ruining gaming for you. I just have an overprotective Mommy.
(PS. If I tell her the game is okay, she trusts me so there will be no suing)

I see your point an all, but... underage kids playing mature games still causes a problem. You and your brother may not be part of that, but it still happens. Thats pretty much what I'm trying to say
