Cinema fans rejoice - Guillermo del Toro's new film is coming to a theater near you on January 19th, 2007! And this isn't just any new film. This is one of the most talked about, best reviewed films of 2006 - Pan's Labyrinth. Critics are calling del Toro's dark fantasy a masterpiece, and it's already been put forward as Mexico's entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the next Academy Awards. Guillermo del Toro has long been one of Horror.com's favorite directors, so we're excited about the wide release of this film in American theaters.

So, what is the super-praised Pan's Labyrinth all about then? The film - written and directed by del Toro - tells the story of 10 year old Ofelia and her family in Spain during the 1940s. Ofelia is caught between her life in the normal world and adventures in another fantastic world - full of strange, sometimes brutal creatures - where she is told that she is a princess. Atmospherically, the film has reminded many people of del Toro previous brilliant work, The Devil's Backbone.

Horror.com's Staci Wilson, who has covered many of Guillermo del Toro's previous films, was lucky enough to interview most of the cast of Pan's Labyrinth as well as scoring an invitation to the Los Angeles premiere. Staci brought back video of the interviews and the premiere (including an amazing special bonus from actor Doug Jones) exclusively for Horror.com viewers.
