Comic fans who like their graphic novels gory, scary, and eerie are in luck. Just as horror movies make their way to the theaters, horror comic books are on their way to fans. 2000 AD's "Necronauts" tells the story of what would happen if Harry Houdini, Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Fort and H.P. Lovecraft came together to battle occult evils. Written by Gordon Rennie ("Judge Dredd", "Storming Heaven") and drawn by Frazer Irving ("Judge Death", "The Authority"), "Necronauts" is now available from all good book and comic stories.

Not to be left out, Vanguard has released the hardcover edition of "Neal Adams Monsters", featuring the classic horror creatures Frankenstein's Monster, Count Dracula, and the Werewolf. "Monsters" is written and illustrated by Adams. In addition to the 72-page regular hardcover, an 88-page deluxe edition is available for horror and comic collectors, containing a 16-page bonus portfolio signed by Adams.

2004 will see the release of IDW Publishing's "Sacred Hearts", the publisher's first ongoing series. Author Steve Niles describes the work as "'Dark Shadows' on acid," - a horror soap opera where vampires, werewolves and a priest exist together in a world of satanic cults and religious zealots. Artist Ben Templesmith says the art will be different from his first printed work, "30 Days of Nights. "I'm going to experiment like hell on this one," he says. Sounds good to us!
