In 1980, Asia2000 started as a magazine dedicated to the future of Asia. It quickly evolved into a publishing press focused on Asian culture. Relatively recently, they expanded their focus with the "Black Butterfly" imprint which publishes crime, mystery, and horror novels with an Asian setting and viewpoint.

"Temutma" by Rebecca Bradley & Stewart Sloan tells the story of a horrifying series of murders and the Superintendent bent on solving them. Described by journalist Mark Schreiber as "a Gothic tale with a Far Eastern spin", the book blends Western-style fear with Asian ghosts and traditions.

If you're interested in unique crime/horror novels and supporting small presses, you may want to give the Asia2000 Black Butterfly catalogue look.
