UK-based Redbus Pictures has approved production of the $10 million horror film "The 9th Passenger". The movie tells the story of eight students stranded on a yacht with a mysterious possibly non-existent ninth passenger. It will be directed by Ellory Elkayam, whose credits include the scare flicks "Eight Legged Freaks", "They Nest", and "Larger Than Life".

Redbus also picked grabbed distribution rights in the UK, France, and Australia - as well as executive producer credits - for the upcoming Lakeshore horror movie "Madhouse". The deal was more than likely spurred on by the success of "Cabin Fever", for which Redbus distributed in the UK. They've also brought to the screen "The Gift", "Jeepers Creepers", and "The Mothman Prophecies".
