Lathan To Carry On Ripley's Fight
Actress Sanaa Lathan cast as lead role in "Alien vs. Predator".

20th Century Fox believes they've found the woman to carry on Sigourney Weaver's legacy: Sanaa Lathan ("Blade"). The New York-born actress has been cast as explorer Lex Kline, the heroine in the upcoming monster mix "Alien vs. Predator".
Sanaa (pronounced like "Sinatra" without the "tra") Lathan's character will lead an expedition to Antarctica seeking evidence of alien races. Raoul Bova ("Under the Tuscan Sun") plays an archaeologist on the trek, while Lance Henriksen (Bishop in "Aliens") is the wealthy industrialist funding the expedition. The studio claims that Lex Kline will be reminiscent of Weaver's Ripley. Can Sanaa fill Sigourney's boots? We'll find out when the movie comes out in June 2004.
