Add another name to the "horror remakes" list. MGM has chosen "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" producer Michael Bay's company Platinum Dunes to remake the 1979 film "The Amityville Horror". The original movie was based on Jay Anson's novel of the same name, which allegedly tells the true story of a family terrorized by their Long Island home's ghostly inhabitants.

And remove another name from the "horror sequels" list. When asked about the possibility of a sequel to his remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Michael Bay said that wasn't going to happen. "We've heard from the rights holders on 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' that they want what Hillary Clinton earned for writing her book," Bay said. "That simply isn't worth it to us."

Amityville 2
Amityville 2 is the prequel. If you haven't seen it, see it, because although it's very low budget it is easily the best in the series

Why don't they make a prequel???? Have what happened during the DeFeo murders on screen.
